Privacy Policy
In short: Lialy is a baby journal for parents on Android and iOS. Your diary is stored on your device. On iOS it can also sync through your own private iCloud account, which we cannot access. On Android you can optionally sign in with Google: with Lialy Premium, your diary and photos are then backed up to our cloud service so you can restore them on another phone. Both apps use Google Firebase for anonymous usage statistics and crash reports, which you can turn off. There are no ads, and we do not sell your information. Request deletion of your Lialy account and data.
1. Who We Are
Lialy (the “App”) is developed and published by Mondrus Computer Consulting Services Inc., a company incorporated in the State of New York, United States (“Mondrus”, “we”, “us”, or “our”). Mondrus is the data controller for the information described in this Policy. This Privacy Policy explains how the Android and iOS versions of the App access, use, store, and transmit information.
Privacy questions and requests may be sent to lialy@mondoapps.app.
2. Scope and Platform Differences
Lialy lets you keep profiles of your children, record moods, height and weight, save quotes, notes and milestones with photos, view insights, and create a printable memory book (PDF). The Android and iOS apps store this diary differently:
- iOS: there are no Lialy accounts. Your diary is stored on your device and, if iCloud is enabled for the App, in the private database of your own iCloud account using Apple’s CloudKit. It is never uploaded to our servers, and we cannot see it.
- Android: you can use the App without an account; your diary then stays on your device. You may choose to sign in with your Google account. If you are signed in and have Lialy Premium, your diary and photos are backed up to the Lialy cloud service operated by us on Google Firebase, so that you can restore them after reinstalling the App or on a new phone. Right after you sign in, the App also downloads any diary previously backed up to that account.
On both platforms, the App uses Google Firebase for usage statistics, crash reports and app configuration (Section 4), subscriptions are processed by Google Play or the App Store, and you can export a PDF that leaves your device only when you choose to share or save it.
3. Information Stored on Your Device
3.1 Your diary
When you use the App, you may enter:
- Child profiles: name, gender, date, time and place of birth, height and weight at birth, and a profile photo;
- Diary entries: moods of your child and of the parents, height and weight measurements, quotes, notes, milestones with their dates, and photos you attach.
This content is stored in the App’s private storage on your device. On iOS it may also be stored in your private iCloud database as described in Section 2. On Android it is uploaded to our cloud service only in the case described in Section 4.2.
3.2 Photos
When you add a photo, the App uses the system photo picker of your device. The App receives only the photo you choose and does not get access to the rest of your photo library.
3.3 PDF memory book
The memory book is generated on your device. A PDF leaves your device only if you choose to share or save it using the system share sheet, and in that case it goes to the app, person or service you select.
3.4 Preferences and reminders
Your settings — units, enabled diary categories, the daily reminder time, the language you selected and the usage-statistics switch — are stored on your device. Daily reminders are scheduled locally by the operating system.
4. Information That Leaves Your Device
| Data | Recipient | Purpose |
|---|---|---|
| Google account identifier, email address, display name and profile photo URL; operating system, language and App version — Android users who sign in | Google Firebase Authentication and our Lialy cloud service (Google Cloud Functions) | Create and secure your account and connect it to your backup |
| Child profiles, moods, measurements, quotes, notes, milestones and photos — Android users who are signed in and have Lialy Premium | Our Lialy cloud service on Google Firebase (Cloud Functions, Cloud Storage and the database behind them) | Back up and restore your diary and photos |
| Your diary content and photos — iOS, if iCloud is enabled | Apple iCloud / CloudKit (your private database) | Store and sync your diary between your Apple devices. Not accessible to us |
| App interactions, device and app information, approximate location derived from your IP address, a random app-instance identifier and the Firebase installation ID | Google Firebase / Google Analytics | Understand how the App is used and improve it (Section 4.3) |
| Crash reports and related technical information | Google Firebase Crashlytics | Find and fix crashes and errors |
| Firebase installation ID, App version, operating system, language and country | Google Firebase Remote Config (Android) and Firebase Installations | Deliver operational settings and feature configuration |
| Purchase and subscription information: product, purchase date, subscription status and expiration | Google Play (Android) or the Apple App Store (iOS) | Process purchases and give you access to Lialy Premium |
| A PDF memory book or image you choose to share | The app, person or storage location you select | Complete the export you requested |
| Your email address, name if included, message and attachments | Us, through our email provider | Answer your support request |
4.1 Google sign-in (Android)
Signing in is optional and is needed only for cloud backup. When you sign in, Google provides the App with your account identifier, email address, display name and profile photo URL through Firebase Authentication. The App sends your display name, profile photo URL, operating system, language and App version to our cloud service to create your Lialy profile. We do not receive your Google password.
4.2 Cloud backup (Android, Lialy Premium)
While you are signed in and have an active Lialy Premium subscription, the App backs up your child profiles, diary entries and photos to our cloud service. Photos are stored in Google Cloud Storage in a location tied to your account. All transfers use encrypted connections (HTTPS). Only you, through the App, and our systems acting on your instructions can access your backup. We do not look at your diary except where you ask us to (for example, in a support request) or where required by law.
If your Premium subscription ends, new entries are no longer backed up; data already in your backup remains until you delete your account. Signing out of the App removes the diary from that device; it is restored from your backup the next time you sign in with the same account.
4.3 Usage statistics and crash reports
Unless you turn this off (Section 5), the App collects the following through Google Firebase:
- Device and app information: device model, operating system and version, App version, language, country or region, time zone, and IP address together with the approximate location (country or city) derived from it. We do not request access to your device’s precise location.
- Identifiers: a random app-instance identifier and the Firebase installation ID. These identify an installation of the App, not you as a person. We do not set your account as a user identifier in Analytics. The App does not use the Android Advertising ID or Apple’s advertising identifier (IDFA), and we do not track you across other companies’ apps or websites.
- Usage events: which screens and features you use and general facts about your activity — for example, that a child profile was created, the child’s age in whole years and gender, the number of child profiles, that a mood, measurement, quote or note was saved or deleted (including the selected mood type), a general percentile range of a measurement, entry counts and streaks, which diary categories are enabled, PDF export settings, session length, and interactions with subscription offers.
- Diagnostics: crash reports and related technical information.
Usage events never include your child’s name, photo, date of birth, exact measurement values, or the text of your quotes and notes. A child’s age, gender and percentile range are sent only as general statistics that help us understand which age groups use the App and how features perform.
4.4 Purchases
Subscriptions are processed by Google Play on Android and by Apple through the App Store on iOS. We do not receive your payment card or billing details. The App receives information about the transaction (product, purchase date, subscription status and expiration date) from the store to give you access to premium features.
4.5 Support requests
If you contact us by email, we receive your email address, your name if included, the content of your message and any attachments. On iOS, emails sent with the “Contact us” button also include your device model, operating system version, App version and Firebase installation ID, so we can help you faster; you can delete this information from the message before you send it.
5. Your Choices
- Usage statistics and crash reports: turn off “Anonymous statistics” in Settings on Android, or “Share usage data” in Settings on iOS. From then on, Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics do not collect data from the App on that device. You can switch it back on at any time.
- Cloud backup (Android): you decide whether to sign in. Without signing in, your diary stays on your device.
- iCloud sync (iOS): you can turn iCloud off for Lialy in iOS Settings. Your data is then stored only on your device.
- Photos: you decide which photos, if any, to add.
- Notifications: you can turn the daily reminder off in the App or in your device settings.
- Stop all collection: uninstall the App. On Android, also delete your account if you created one (Section 10).
6. Legal Bases for Processing (EEA, UK, Switzerland)
- Performance of a contract: to provide the App and its features, your account and cloud backup, and subscriptions.
- Legitimate interests: for usage statistics, crash reporting, app configuration, security, fraud prevention and improving the App. You can object at any time by turning off usage statistics (Section 5).
- Legal obligation: for keeping transaction records and responding to lawful requests.
7. Service Providers
We share information only with the following providers, who process it on our behalf or as independent controllers under their own privacy policies:
- Google Firebase and Google Cloud (Authentication, Cloud Functions, Cloud Storage, Analytics, Crashlytics, Remote Config, Installations) — Privacy and Security in Firebase;
- Google Play — app distribution and subscriptions on Android — Google Privacy Policy;
- Apple (iCloud / CloudKit, App Store) — iCloud sync, app distribution and subscriptions on iOS — Apple Privacy Policy.
We do not sell your personal information, do not share it for targeted advertising, and do not show ads in the App. We may also disclose information (a) if required by law or a valid request from public authorities; (b) to protect our rights or users’ safety, or to investigate fraud; or (c) in connection with a merger, acquisition or sale of assets. In that last case, we will notify you before your information becomes subject to a different privacy policy.
8. International Transfers
We are based in the United States, and our service providers may process information in countries other than your own, including the United States. Where required, such transfers are protected by appropriate safeguards, such as the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses used by our providers.
9. Data Retention
- Diary on your device stays there until you delete it in the App or uninstall the App.
- Android cloud backup and account are kept while your account exists. When you delete your account, we delete them; copies in our providers’ backup systems are removed as those backups expire.
- iCloud data (iOS) remains in your iCloud account until you delete it.
- Usage statistics are kept for up to 14 months in Google Analytics for Firebase. Crash reports are kept for up to 90 days in Crashlytics. After that, this data may be kept only in aggregated form.
- Support emails are kept for as long as needed to resolve your request and for up to 3 years afterwards.
- Transaction records are kept by Google or Apple and, where applicable, by us as long as required by law.
10. Deleting Your Data
- A child profile: delete it in the App. All of that child’s entries are deleted with it, on this device and in your backup or iCloud if sync is on.
- Your Lialy account and cloud backup (Android): open Settings in the App and choose “Delete account”, or send a request without the App as described on our account and data deletion page.
- Data on your device: uninstall the App. On Android, deleting your account or signing out also removes the diary from that device.
- Data in iCloud (iOS): in iOS Settings, go to [your name] → iCloud → Manage Account Storage, select Lialy and delete its data. The exact menu names may vary with your iOS version.
- Usage data and support emails: email lialy@mondoapps.app with the subject “Data deletion request”. On iOS, include your Firebase installation ID if you have it. We will delete the data we and our providers hold and confirm when it is done.
Deleting your account or the App does not cancel a subscription. Cancel it separately in your Google Play or App Store subscriptions.
11. Your Rights
Everyone
You can view, edit and delete your diary content directly in the App at any time, and turn off usage statistics as described in Section 5.
EEA, UK and Switzerland
You have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict or object to processing of your personal data, the right to data portability, and the right to withdraw consent at any time. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
California and other US states
Depending on your state, you may have the right to know what personal information we collect, to access, correct and delete it, and to opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of personal information. We do not sell or share personal information for targeted advertising. We will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.
How to exercise your rights
Email us at lialy@mondoapps.app. We will respond within 30 days, or within the period required by applicable law. We may ask for information that lets us find your data, such as the email address of your Google account on Android or your Firebase installation ID on iOS, and may need to verify that the request comes from you.
12. Children’s Privacy
Lialy is intended for parents and caregivers, not for children. The App is not directed to children under 13 (or under 16 in the EEA), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Information about a child is entered by the parent or caregiver, who decides what to record. It is stored on the parent’s device and, depending on the platform and the parent’s choices, in the parent’s iCloud account or in the parent’s Lialy cloud backup. The only child-related information we receive for statistics is the general age, gender and percentile range described in Section 4.3, which is not linked to the child’s identity. If you believe we hold personal information provided by a child, contact us at lialy@mondoapps.app and we will delete it.
13. Security
All network requests made by the App, including to our cloud service and to Firebase, use encrypted connections (HTTPS). Access to your cloud backup requires your signed-in account. Your diary on the device is protected by your device’s security, and on iOS by Apple’s iCloud security. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. Please keep your device and your Google account or Apple ID secure.
14. Links to Other Websites
The App and this Policy may contain links to third-party websites and services that we do not control. We are not responsible for their privacy practices and encourage you to read their privacy policies.
15. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version on this page and change the “Last updated” date. If the changes are material, we will notify you in the App before they take effect.
